Law > Labor & Employment Skills

Labor laws find relevance in everyone's life one way or another, whether through the obvious cases of employee-employer relationships through which the vast majority of people participate in the national economy, or through the less obvious cases of industrial strikes conducted by labor unions which affect the very products and services that we consume. These are the skills that I developed over the years related to this important field of the law.

Labor Standards
Safety and fairness in the workplace

From my experience being an employer, I have a deep understanding of the crucial role that employees play in the success of a company, and the importance of protecting the dignity of such valuable human resources by providing equitable terms of employment and keeping them safe by maintaining safe working conditions.

More than merely staying compliant with international labor standards such as those concerning hours of work, equal pay, and employment policies, I discern the wisdom behind such standards and readily apply it by analogy to new developments in the workplace, such as remote work.

Labor Relations
Promoting industrial peace

Having walked miles in the proverbial shoes of both an employee and employee, I am guided by the conveniences and inconveniences of having experienced both when pursuing the goal of establishing peaceful relations between labor and capital.

I use such knowledge when it comes to harmonizing the importance in recognizing the indispensable role of labor in the generation of wealth and ensuring a reasonable return on investment for capital, and I do this by strictly adhering to internationally established rules that allows labor to negotiate with capital on an equal footing, such as those rules prohibiting against yellow dog contracts and those on collective bargaining.

Employment Contracts
Balancing three interests and putting the result into writing

I know the special nature of employment contracts, in that they are not mere agreements between an employer and an employee, but are convenants vested with social interest because they collectively determine the health and vitality of the nation's economy.

Thus, the delicate endeavor of creating a contract that reflects the intent and balances the interests of three parties - labor, capital, and society - require an expertise that I have developed over years of experience.
